Gravitas Ventures Acquires De-Escalation, a Lillian Glass Film

De-Escalation,  a film about police use of excessive force, is picked up by Gravitas Ventures for a December 2021 release.

Police use of excessive force: everyone is talking about the problem, but this film provides a solution. “De-Escalation” looks at a unique comprehensive training program that has never been seen before.

The film looks at six of the most prominent cases: George Floyd, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Philando Castile, Laquan McDonald, and Jason Harrison. World-renowned experts in various disciplines examine what was done, and what could have been done in each of these cases to prevent these tragedies. This documentary re-evaluates and provides a solution to lessen the physical force, defuse tension with suspects, approach the mentally ill, and check one’s own implicit biases. The experts provide a strategy for a universal program to save more lives.

The Award-Winning director of the film, who is also a renowned Body Language expert, felt incredibly passionate about providing better body language training to officers, and thus her film was born. After recruiting numerous experts in various fields, Dr. Glass was able to create a new training program explained throughout the documentary by the experts.

“This film has to be seen by everybody. As a society, we are so concerned about police use of excessive force and why it keeps happening. This film doesn’t just focus on the problem, but it provides an effective solution that will save more lives. This film is about people coming together and healing.” – Lillian Glass

With experts like William J. Bratton (the former NYC Police  Commissioner), John Wilson (a former police officer and body language expert), Dr. Charles Sophy DO (a Psychiatrist), Wayne Caffey (a former detective, and member of the California Gang Investigators Association), Michael “Ziggy” Siegfried (the COO of the Verbal Judo Institute), and Dr. Joann Brown (a communications expert),  among other lumnaries in their respective fields of expertise, this film dives deep into a wide range of De-Escalation techniques that are seldom talked about today.

The film is produced and directed by Lillian Glass, and co-produced and edited by George Artope. This is Glass’ third film within her company Your Total Image Productions, following the award-winning film “Reinventing Rosalee” and “Feisty Fighter- The Marnesba Tackett Story” that is currently garnering numerous awards at film festivals nationally and internationally.

Gravitas Ventures has acquired the film and plans on a December 7, 2021 release date. The director had the following to say about the acquisition:

“We are honored to have such a prestigious company as Gravitas Ventures distribute this film in reaching so many in order to harvest a social impact for anyone concerned about police use of excessive force, it’s solution, and social justice.” – Lillian Glass
